Review by hotel critic
As an archaeologist with a penchant for unique accommodations, Hotelboat Angeline proved to be a delightful find during our recent Christmas trip to Amsterdam. Our hosts, Daniel and his hardworking team, were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home while providing invaluable local insights. The rooms, while compact, were well-equipped and comfortable, with a dark carpeted floor that added a touch of warmth. We appreciated the ample storage space and the charming atmosphere of staying on the water-a truly unique experience in a city so intertwined with its canals. The convenience of being just a 10-minute walk from popular destinations like Leidseplein and Anne Frank House made our explorations pleasurable and stress-free. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring freshly made pancakes, delightful pastries, and a rich selection of cheeses. Having access to complimentary coffee, teas, and a small honesty bar also added a thoughtful touch, ensuring we always felt well catered to. Hotelboat Angeline is a treasured gem that captivated both my personal and professional sensibilities, and I would highly recommend it to any traveler seeking a distinctive stay in Amsterdam.
